after so many amps, no joke ask my wife !!!
I have tried many guitars too, however my 50th Strat (2004 LE 50th) has drawn me back every time.
It will need a refret soon.
any way, I'm closing my flea-Bay account and trying to stay off of Craigs List too.
The twin has been the sound I hear in my head when I think tone.
The thing has inspired me lately and really pushed me forward on a couple of styles that really interest me.
so.....
for at least one year, here is my rig
50th Strat
65Twin Reverb RI
Route 66 Comp O/D pedal
CMATMODS Signa Drive (SWEET PEDAL) !!!!
Occasional use Cry Baby (Wylde all metal one) found cheap in a pawn shop (not a metal player by any means).

Sounds righteous to me!

the Route 66 is a great pedal,I can see where it would work well with a Twin.

the route 66 has been a constant all along, that comp adds sooooo much to any good tube amp.

I'm going to stick with this by making a vow before The Lord, you guys and my wife.

I must build my next tube amp (not the woodwork).

I want to build a low powered twin, ground up.

I will practice my soldering technique untill its perfect before I attach a single lead.

Are you thinking something along the lines of a Tweed Twin? That would be a sound I'd like to have at my disposal. We're holding you to the tube amp build. I wish you luck and as little burn on your fingertips as is possible!

Yes a low powered tweed twin with some nice weber 12A150's
as tweedy as you can get !
wont be any time soon, it will be more like a johnny cash amp "one piece at a time".

Sound like a great plan. A low powered Tweed Twin (5E8A) would be an awesome amp to build. 8)

One slow piece at a time !!!
I want it as tonefull and bullet proof as i can possible make it !
I am just starting to be happy with my soldering so, I'll keep on trying till its perfect.
My rotten Carpal T does not help much either, fuzz feeling in my fingers after a short time of grasping anything.

Its why I keep turning down band offers, playing at home and a little teaching is about all I can do untill I figure out how to pay for surgery.
