Nor I either (though mine is a first-year issue from '94).

Well, here we go again turned it on yesterday was playing fine, I then changed the input from the reverb channel to the normal channel and back came the loud hum, I then removed the guitar cable, moved it to the other input the noise went away, I then moved it back hum was back. I turned amp on stanby, waited 5 minutes turned it back on with nothing plugged in to the amp, and loud hum was still there... So now I'm contacting Fender warranty support! This amp has issues out of the box less that 60 days old, unreal, I feel like ajax with the graphic tossing my money out the window... LOL  ...but I didn't pay 1049 ajax, paid under 800 out the door with a cover, but that fact still don't make this feel any better, I'm really annoyed, two for two both bad, the floor model and the new replacement out of the box...so my new exciting amp goes from elevated status to POS! and I'm using my AC15! I'm not going to step on any cracks on the sidewalk with this luck..

Beware! if you buy a new one!

Good luck with the new amp.

JOC... has anyone worked on a new DRRI? Are the circuit boards the same thickness and the tracings the same on the latest variants?

I ask because I've noticed some big differences in other recent amps. In terms of quality of construction.

I worked on a recent edition last January -- exact year unknown but it did have the goofy add-on board that's supposedly designed to cure the "trem tick". The PCB looked identical to that in my '94 except for the big "nekkid" area where the original opto-isolater and related components once resided. Several of the solder joints on it appeared "frosty" so I touched them up as a routine precaution.

I have owned 2 Deluxe Reverb Reissues now for about 4 years. I have owned each amp for 4 years.

One amp is a bedroom amp and also acts a backup to my gigging DRRI
The gigging DRRI always has a dust jacket protector on it (except when I am playing of course).

I just had issues with my bedroom amp which was solved by having all the insides/pots/jacks cleaned up. -- $80 at Noteworks

My gigging amp has no issues whatsoever.

I play both amps quite a bit. And I can probably attribute the problems for my bedroom DRRI to Arizona Desert dust...

Sorry but I will have to disagree that the newer DRRI's are prone with problems...

I will say I have tons of problems with the Hot Rod/Blues deluxe amps...

You can disagree, but the posts don't support your assertion. According to the posts in this forum alone, the newer issue DRRI has lots of problems while the HRDlx III has been quite reliable. I have owned a HRDlx I for 14 years, and it still works great.

How do you weigh these "tons" of problems?

I also had the BDDR RI before I purchased the new DRRI, sold it to by this one :( , but I agree I had absolutly no problems with it, gigging and it took all the abuse no problem. Now on the other hand the DRRI, that has never left my studio, except now its at SSS audio getting fixed, (I think)? They said thay won't even look at my new Fender Warranty amp, until 14 days from now! ...but If I want to pay 50.00 they will look at it in a week  , then he says "well, we will probably just get you another one from Fender rather that fixing your amp" more annoyance, if they do that I have to break in that jensen all over again it was just starting to sparkle... grrr!!
I now have a 1000. amp that I will likely not see again for a month or more. I'm using my AC15 for sessions until the next episode. It will be interesting to see if Fender does send me a 3rd new amp, and if it also has problmes...

I think the recent QC/QA problems are more endemic throughout the entire Fender amp line rather than limited to one particular model.

Well guys, here I' am again, reporting that I still don't have my Deluxe back! SSS audio still has it! took it in on January 28th, the story is becoming quite the saga. I was told 3 weeks ago that the tubes were bad, and they would have to be ordered from Fender directly I asked why don't you carry a spare set of tubes? after all you're an authorized Fender warranty repair center? The said that was how Fender does it. They said Fender shipped them out UPS ground. ...Well I figure they must be in China by now, after 3+ weeks. I called them last week for a status due to my reaching the annoyed level of frustration. I asked them if it was ready, they said no. So I went off. I asked the owner to call me back. I get a call later that day and they said they "talked to Fender warranty repair in Arazona" and the tubes were on back order but', he was able to get them to find one' Duet of tubes for my amp (boy was I happy :() and he was having them shipped (what a crock) I cut him off when he started the technical talk about "how you know tubes are not made in the USA anymore" guess I was born yesterday huh.. I said they were garden variety Groove tubes available in Guitar Center! that stopped that conversation) ...I asked how they were being shipped? Overnight? and when I could expect to see the amp.. he said "they were shipping them UPS ground!!!", so should be in about 2 weeks! :( All I can say is that I will NEVER EVER USE SSS Audio in Bloomfield NJ AGAIN!!! Beware because if Fender handles their warranty business like this all I can say is I hope your amp doesn't break down and you really need it repaired in a timely manner.... Thank God I still another amp! Just think if this was my only amp. I intend to call Fender support and customer service once I finally do get the amp back to discuss their warranty support and their Vendor in Bloofield.

Sounds like SSS is giving you a lot of BS. UPS ground takes about three days, and GT 6V6 are available everywhere, right now. :(

shimmilou, You hit it right on the nail! Total BS!!! in a big way, wonder what the real story is about, they probably can't figure out what is wrong with my amp... LOL! but they set the expectation, and that is a very bad way to do business IMO

and the Dog sure did eat the AMP in my case...
