I was born in the 50's so my taste for tone is from that era. I just started to play solid body electric's a couple of years ago. The first amp I got was a Frontman 60 watt and I found it serile so I went to tube amps, a Marshall Haze15, and it was a lot better feel but proved to be unreliable. So then tried a Blackstar HT, but the clean tone was lacking but has a great distortion. Then on a lark I bought a new Fender Pro Junior without even playing it first. I think my experimenting is over. The PJ is all that I need for playing live. The tone, simplicity, weight, and loudness, is perfect. I also have a Fender Champion 600 for home use.

Does anyone else find the PJ excellent?

Thanks for the welcome. I figured Jeff Beck was a Marshall guy. I do share my opinion with him though. I love my PJ.

So you find the Pro Junior's tone to be equivalent to that of a '50s-era tweed Fender?

Interesting......

Absolutley not. I should of said from my generation or demographic. I have it my head of what electric guitars should sound and feel like. Some of the newer amps sound fake or unreal to me. The older amps were just out of control in my opinion. I perfer cathode biased solid state recifirers, but that is just what suits me. I am not an authority in this. It's just what I like. I don't jones for vintage amps.

I once had a pro junior and this sweet little amp was dynamic like hell !

There was no better "OD-Pedal" than a pro junior  :D

nice cleans, sweet crunch and loud as one of his big brothers !
with a jensen P10Q (???) even better !

I dont know what the hell came over me that I sold him.... :?

The Blackstar HT5 was possably the best OD pedal, but I didn't sell mine.

Oh well. different strokes for different ears.

I love the tone of my Pro Jr...it's why I bought it...great practice amp and when I run it through the '66 Bassman cab it opens up nicely

And Jeff Beck can really do no wrong...so if he is using a PJ.... 8)

I just heard that the PJ isn't cathode biased but it is fixed bias. Would someone educate me on how to check the bias on a PJ?
