I have been seeing a lot of info about the rumble 25 and a faulty limiter circuit that causes an annoying buzz that sounds like a blown speaker. Is anyone else having this issue, and if so, is it worth shipping it to a service center?
The reason I ask is that I purchased the rumble 25 and it exhibited the buzz problem the first day I had it, so I decided to buy a different brand, and it too crapped out, and Peavey will not work with me on getting a replacement.
Is it worth shipping off to a service center? Is the turnaround time reasonable, or is it several months like Peavey?
If the turnaround is insane, can anyone point me in the direction of a do it yourself solution? Obviously cost is an issue here, and I cannot spend money buying new equipment to replace stuff that should be working properly.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I have a rumble 115 that does the same thing. It is intermittant. It does sound like a torn speaker but the buzz comes out both the speaker and the horn. If I could find out the fix I could fix it myself.

UPDATE:
I took it to the Music shop that I bought it. They sent it to there repair shop. It was there over a week. I told the store owner that it was an intermittant problem. When I got it back it was working. At least for a week and it started the BUZZ again. I made a recording of what it was doing, but did not want to drive it all the way across town again.
So I took it into my shop at work and opened the AMP. I found that if I pushed on the main amp board the problem would come and go. I pulled the Main amp board out and when I turned it over I found the problem.
One of the Pre-drive transistors only had 2 of its 3 leads soldered. I fixed this and touched up a bunch of other cold solder joints. I put it back together and it works fine now. I took some pictures of the bad solder joints.
If the repair shop had opened the amp instead of just turning it on he would have found it. I won't go back there.
I like my Rumble 100 again....
