Fromm previous use of both of them, the Hot rod 212 is the better amp

thanks for the info Leveridge... may i ask, can the 212 be dialed down low enough to use in a room? i know some of the bigger amps 1 is too much for a house.

I'm a little unsure. Are we talking about a Deville III 212 vs a regular Deville 212?

the only hot rod III amp I've tried so far is the blues jr. III which I personally like a bit more than the original blues jr. I don't know if this would still hold true with the Deville III or not.

If the Deville is what you are talking about then to answer your question about it being quiet enough to use indoor, that's a big no! it's simply too loud. once you get it quiet enough it's too muffled and dead sounding. There's really no ways about it. The Deville is strictly a gigging amp and depending on how big of gigs you're playing, it may even still be a bit overkill.

Hey Roadie,

I have had my HR Deluxe 112 for a year and added a HR De Ville 3 410 combo last week to it and it sings, the 12's are in my opinion are too bright for a room/house, but the 410 De ville is amazing and tones it down a lot but it does not detract from the tone of the amp itself, especially after slaving the 112 to the 410. The 410 is a blues box that can be many things to many different players, but it kills in the blues arena along with any hard rock you may pursue, and the clean channel is as powerful.
Good luck
