It depends on who's doing the wiring. If it's a rats nest of wires or if the build is really complex and the space is tight it can be tough to service. True PTP (point to point) uses no boards at all, usually just terminal strips. Some folks call hand-wired amps PTP even though they use turret boards and lugs.
Sound wise, some people swear they can hear a difference between PTP and PCB (printed circuit boards) amps. I'm not one of them. There is nothing wrong with a well designed, high quality PCB amp. I like simple hand-wired amps like Champs or the 5e3 Deluxe. Great sounding amps and pretty simple designs.

Well, in general, hand-wired sound better than foot-wired.

Sorry, Devil made me do it. You'll just have to give the amps a listen for yourself. I would hope that the hand-wired has less solder issues, than some mass-produced PCB board amps. And make fine tuning the tone by swapping resistors/caps/etc a bit easier.

With age & heat... some PCB boards start to get brittle and have conductivity issues. Esp the ones that have the tubes sitting on the boards.

Nice amp. Great tone. Loud. Heavy. Worth the money.

The re-issue 5F6-A will benefit from a speaker swap. Weber's 10A125's are an excellent alternative to the import Jensen re-issues.

I have a 59 bassman ltd.It is a great amp IMO.I have had the earlier version and the newer version has the jensens in it.I bought both of these amps used , so neither had the original tubs. The earlier version came to me with JAN Phillips wgb tubes , the newer one with tung sol 5881s . If you are buying this amp new , please give the speakers time to break in.It is a somewhat of a bright amp , but once the speakers are broken in it sounds great. These amps are known for their crunch sound , so you need to be able to crank these amps to play them at their full potential. These are pcb amps , but the build quality is top notch, very reliable .Hope this helps.

It depends, can take an hour or two or many hours, different cone surround material (the bit that the edge is attached to) can influence things, some never seem to want to loosen up :? .

Various ideas what to do to help the process, from running white noise thru em at low level for a while to occasionally cranking the amp, probably the 1st idea is best EXCEPT it kinda uses a bit of valve life up.

YMMV
