I just purchased a brand new HRD and I love it.
I'm trying to use the power amp out to record directly into my soundcard but in order for the soundcard to record anything, the amp needs to be set SOOOO high.
Any suggestions?

Also, in the back of the amp, there is a cable plugged in (right by the tubes).
There are 2 slots that this can go in, one makes the amp louder...
Which one should it be on? Does it matter?

Thanks in advance!

The jacks on the bottom of the amp's chassis are speaker outputs. Check your manual for the correct wiring configuration. Each of the jacks can power an 8Ω speaker load but they must be sequenced correctly for safe operation.

 Hi Wallimann,

Here is a link to the manual, explaining the speaker jacks ("slots" by the tubes), and you should use the "Preamp Out" to sound card, not the "Power Amp In", with the proper connection of course. It might be a good idea to read the manual and learn about your amp before you start plugging things in and possibly doing some damage.

How are you connecting to your sound card? Does it have phone plug input jack? There should be a level adjustment on your computer for the line in and you should be able to play the amp at low volume while recording to computer.

Thanks so much for your help guys.
I figured it out.
I'm actually not going straight into the soundcard but am using a Palmer Junction direct box.
I talked to them and they explained to me that I need to do the following:

Amp speaker out -> Palmer In
Palmer through -> Amp speaker in (with a speaker cable!)
Palmer to soundcard.

Thanks for everyone's help. :-)
