Good god, I'm only making a suggestion. :| For footswitches, it's a better, studier solution especially if you gig. I use plastic boxes all the time. Just not for footswitches. For 3 bucks more than a Shack box it's cheap insurance.

Plastic is great for chicom-made kitchen utensils and the secret decoder rings that came inside a box of Post Toasties, but I see no strategic imperative to using it for stompboxes on a professional pedalboard. Of course it's only one zenophobic Luddite's opinion......

I don't see where I said your suggestion was bad. I said for my purposes (I don't gig), plastic works fine. The OP asked how to make his existing foot switch more board friendly. I showed him how I did it. End of story.

16 Ga. Stainless Steel

Then I made an extension for the wah pedal. I've made several for friends and people I gig with occasionally. I'd like to mass produce them and get super rich!

Here's the final product with the velcro and rubber grommets in the holes. It also has a bottom that houses the power supply(s).

Hollis,That's beautiful man. What, no plastic? Just kidding.
I wouldn't be worried about the weight, couldn't weigh more than a Twin. If you mass produced them, would you offer them in different sizes?
