In reply to the head shell idea. That would be a consideration. Then what would I do with the speakers from the combo? Get a new 2X12 cab with no speakers and install them? Would that even be possible?

Here is one I saw on craigslist....kinda cool. No affiliation...just wanted to share.Maybe give you an idea and some motivation.Good luckImage

AFAIK, they don't as a "standard" product. However, check out Bandmate USA
http://shopbandmateusa.3dcartstores.com/. Jeff does great work for a very reasonable price. He built my last unloaded 1x12 and made the back convertible (i.e. can be open or closed) too and the craftsmanship was tops. He is very prompt in answering emails too and can customize things for you within reason. Tell him that I sent you! He can make headshells too. Two other places that do heads and cabs are Mojo Music Supply (www.mojotone.com) and Lopo Cabs (www.lopoline.com). They have quite a selection of premade cabs and head shells but are pricier. There also are guys on Ebay who make and sell cabs and head shells (that where I found Jeff and Bandmates USA). Happy hunting!

Matt

Have you tried your overdrives through normal channel? I have an OCD v3, fulltone dist pro, and way huge swollen pickle fuzz that i use with my trri and they all sound good through both channels. I noticed however that through the normal channel they sound warmer. You might want to give that a try with your current pedals and see if its too your liking.

I tried the Fulltone for a while and really liked it. However, I found my niche with a BBE Orange Squash compressor and a BBE Green Screamer. Just the rite amount of subtle compressed overdrive for my TRRI.
