I just bought a used Two Tone amp and the reverb seems kind of tinny and cheap. It looks like a Blues Jr. type tank. I was wondering if there is a bigger sounding replacement tank. The cabinet is pretty big so I'm wondering if I could use a Super reverb tank for instance. Has anyone swapped out their reverb tank on this type of amp and can recomend what to get. I play mostly rock & roll with some surf ocasionally.
Thanks :?

This guy switched it out with a Ruby tank. You need to make sure to match the impedance and such.

+1

And for a "surfier" 'verb, try a long-delay six-spring tank.

Go to AikenAmps > tech info > data sheets > Accutronics reverb tank specs, to help match it up.

There's a couple of direct replacement tanks that sound better/surfier than stock. The stock tank is an Accutronics 8EB2C1B.

Antique Electronic Supply has them and a couple of others that match (and sound better, surfier), go to the reverb section and look for that Accutronics unit for reference.

They also carry also matching units from Belton and MOD
Belton = P-RBS3EB2C1B

MOD = P-RMOD-8EB2C1B

MojoTone also has a unit (I think this is a rebadged Ruby, not sure, ask them)
