Fender Vibrolux Reverb-Amp

I have been saving for a deluxe reverb amp..but since the current price increase i am now considering the vibrolux....mostly because it is forty watts instead of twenty two. I have read most of the reviews on harmony central but i really respect the opinion of people on this board because everyone seems well informed. Also, i know i need to go play both of them. but please give me your opinion. thanks

They are different. The CVR is not just a higher powered DRRI. The CVR has no negative feedback loop causing it to break up earlier than typical 40 watt amps. It's tone is one the best ever in any amplifier made IMHO. The reverb is not as strong as a DRRI, still nice though in it's own way. The no feedback loop contributes to a higher level of hiss or white noise than you find in other amps. If you want it for quiet playing, I highly suggest you try one out first to see if you are OK with that. Still, tone to die for. If you gig, and like a good early sweetspot, this amp is hard to beat.

The DRRI is typical blackface Fender tone with excellent reverb. Sounds great at home or small - medium gigs.

Try em both...let your ears decide for you.

prolux thank you for the response

i went to guitar center yesterday and played the deluxe reverb and the custom vibrolux reverb.....i did notice the hiss of the vibrolux....the vibrolux is very touch sensitive....also the reverb is less pronounced than the reverb on the deluxe reverb but when you turn the reverb above 7 you get a nice sounding modertly heavy reverb....the overall tone of the vibrolux is awesome.

however, i also really like the deluxe reverb....very sweet clean tones and dripping reverb.

the nice thing is i know i can't go wrong with either amp..i really like both of them and if i had the money i would buy both and a bassman.

i will get one of these in may becuse i should have all the money saved by then.

:D :D :D
