Thanks for the input, I´ve just e-mailed Weber quoting on the specs on some speakers.

Right now, I´m focusing my efforts on these tubes:
NOS Telam EL84 Matched Pair $40 (valve codes N3: JA/640; N10: MC/351)
NOS Sylvania ECC83/12AX7A/7025 Pair
$40

Would like to hear a word about them from you tubes expert guys, if there is a better option in the price range. If not, I´m going to shoot on´em. Thanks.

I would just take it one step at a time. If you do too much at once, you'll never what improves your tone and what doesn't. I agree with bluesky about speaker power ratings. Anything 20 watts or better would be fine. It IS the efficiency rating that's important. I run two Celestion Elite 80's with my Egnater 20 watter and the speakers are rated at 80 watts each, but and are highly efficient as well. It just depends on what you want. Tone is extremely subjective so don't go by what everyone says about tone. One mans tone is another mans tone turd.

I replaced the stock speaker in my Frontman 25R with an Eminence Ragin Cajun and the increased efficiency of the RC damn near blew me out of the room.

Now what for the V1/V2 ?
I´ve been searching for JAN PHILIPS 7025/12AX7 for around 30-40 bucks, but can´t seem to find them shipping worldwide.

I found some others, tell me what you guys think:
NOS JAN Philips 5751/12AX7
NOS Sylvania 7025/12AX7
Tung-Sol 12AX7

For the price I´m really leaning torwards the Sylvanias, if you guys can confirm me it´s sweeter sounding than Tung-Sols.

Go with the JAN Philips 5751/12AX7. That's what I have in V1 of my Blues Deluxe Reissue. It definitely sounds sweet. V2 in the Pro Junior would be the phase inverter (I'm guessing since I can't find a schematic. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.) so it is less imprtant to tone than V1. I would go with a JJ balanced 12AX7 or JJ balanced 12AT7 (if you want a little less gain) from Eurotubes and put the money saved towards the speaker.

Here's the schem for the original Pro Jr.

http://classic-web.archive.org/web/2006 ... pro_jr.pdf

It specifies a 12AX7A for the phase inverter, which likely permits some "lattitude" in the interest of tuning the amp for reduced volume and gain.

Cool.

Boy, if we keep dropping the gain, use less powerful output tubes, and an inefficient speaker, the OP could play his guitar at night in a nursing home and not bother anyone.

NOS GE 7025/12AX7 PAIR
NOS Sylvania 7025/12AX7 PAIR
Tung-Sol 12AX7 PAIR

I´ve researched about the 5071, regardless of being JAN tubes, I´ll drop my breakup point, putting it on a later basis, so I think I´ll be better with 7025 or Tung-Sols. I´m bidding on those NOS pairs to see if I can win the auction on them, but should they sound sweeter than the famous Tung-Sols ? And what´s the need for a "balanced" v2 tube ?

Just be aware that tubes alone may not give you the tone you're looking. There's a bit more to it than tubes. Don't get me wrong, tubes are extremely important, but in the case of my HRDlx although they improved the tone quite a bit for what it was, they were nothing more than turd polish in the end.

Thanks for the input. I´m aware that they may not deliver all that my mind is expecting from this tube upgrade. But in the other hand I just wanted to swap off the Groove Tubes EL84 White4, and Sovteks 12AX7WCs that came with my ProJr. What I´m really looking after is sweeter sounding tubes for now, leaving the stock tubes as spares only.
I heard so many good things about those Telam EL84s that I´ve already bought, and wanted to match their "sweetness" with some pair of 12ax7s, maybe I´ll go for the Tung-Sols in the end for a "safe" route, taking place that I do not know how they would sound compared to NOS Sylvania/GE 12AX7/7025. I was wondering that someone would step up and say that the NOS 7025 are much much better than the Tung-Sol reissues, but I cant find much of comparsion either on the internet forums.
