My band buddy had one, but he couldn't filter out a certain sound that it had. He sold it within a couple of months. Guess he didn't care for the EL-84 sound, me either.

I let the magic smoke out of a V22 on the showroom floor when I was amp shopping. Doesn't mean they all have problems. It just turned me off to Bugera. Nothing wrong with EL84's. I like them better with my Humbucker equipped guitars. They're just a little too chimey with single coil pups to my ears. YMMV

I agree Supro. The el84s sound great with my humbucker guitars but sound too bright and not enough low end with my strats.BTW, did you get the magic smoke back in the Bugera ? Seriously though I tried one out a while back and didnt care for it, I thought the Jet Citys were better amps in that price range.JMHO.

To me Jet City amps are great bang for the buck amps. Never got the smoke back in, but I did get the hairy eyeball from the sales guy. Bugera/Behringer aren't really known for high quality gear. The Behringer pedals are awful. Even the $20 Dano pedals are much better IMO.

Ha ! I used to have a Behringer SS amp a while back just for practicing at home because my ex didnt like loud noise  and it had a headphone jack but it sounded like a**.

FenderFreak63, You like the Bugera V22 over the DRRI? I always knew all those session guys I know were wrong about the Deluxe Reverb and probably the Princeton Reverb too.

Just kidding. It's probably the EL84's just appeal to you ears. Glad you like it. Have fun with it and good luck. May the reliability gods shine down upon you. :D

Ok here it is with me and the Protone...i dig it.. its all what you do with it..I have a Deluxe..Blues Jr..Bassman 410..Vibroking...67 super...a vibrochamp...and a Gibson Falcon...this little Bugera is good for small gigs..i run a reverb tank...which if youve played on one ..know how it adds gain and high end to your tone...i also run a Boss RT20 for my Leslie effect...good rig to cover Texas blues..and swamp pop.. So if this thing smokes it will get gutted and made into a PTP rig by my tech..or maybe fixed and upgraded....I got a 100.00 bucks in it and it made me more than that this past week... so i would say it was a good buy..when im done ..i will sell it to one of you guys for 150.00...lol

Sounds good. Keep the magic smoke in and you're all set.
I'm not a fan of any of the HRD series. I got 3 months out of my HRDlx before it took its first dump. Many more followed. Mine had reliability diarrhea.
I've had many, many, many Fender amps over the years. Bandmasters, Vibrolux Reverbs, Deluxe Reverbs, Champs and a Twin that settled in for over 30 years of constant gigging without any problems. Sadly, the new ones just ain't doing it for me.

As I said before, I'm not an EL-84 guy, but I would have liked to have heard that same song through a DRRI or a Tweed Pro. Can't beat a 100 bucks though.
