Congrats! Beautiful amp! My DRRI does not need a pedal board, it is way too sweet sounding all by itself  just turn it up pass 6 and let her sing!

i couldn't agree with you more! the pedal board is really just for session work.

i love this amp and speaker (P12Q) combination; goes with the best of both worlds vibe...

SWEEEET! Cool version of one of the best sounding amps ever made & I love the Tele with the Bridge & Neck Humbuckers!

Looks like hours of jamming are in order & at hand!

I'm at a loss to understand why FMIC doesn't make that P12Q standard in all DRRI's......

:?: :?: :?:

Someone here recently posted sound clips of the stock Jensen in the DRRI vs. the alnico. I liked the stock overdriven tones better vs. the alnico. Historically hasn't the Deluxe Reverb typically contained a ceramic speaker?

BTW I visit the PGS store in Portland often and they used to have a stack of the FSRs in the showroom - nice looking amp!

One pedal only.

Try the visual sounds route 66 in front of your DRRI add some compression and a little overdrive when ya need it, trust me ya won't be sorry !

I seldom even need the overdrive the tones are sooooo sweet.

Sustain full on
tone 12:00
Gain 12:00
I prefer the older model over the latest version, just make sure it has the bass boost on the overdrive side.

Now your ready for some of the best clean with just a hint of hair tones you'll likely ever hear.

Have Fun !!!!!!

Indeed, you are correct. The first blackface examples were equipped with a Jensen C12R, followed by the ceramic Oxford 12K5. Soon into the silverface era the orange-label Utahs (also ceramic) appeared.

oh but this jensen alnico is so sweet! i bet after many hours of playing it'll soften up nicely.

the rt. 66 is nice. i find i play with the compression more than the overdrive. i recently picked up a pigtronix philosopher's tone and i am digging that. not sure what i am looking for in an overdrive; i guess i have that old "rat" pedal lying around...

I have no doubt that alnico will make for a unique and great sounding DRRI. I've never owned an amp with an alnico speaker, however, I have a 5E3 clone coming from Cox Amps that contains a Weber alnico speaker (Cox Ultimate 5E3). Have fun with your new DRRI - I have no doubt that it sounds (and looks) awesome! When I saw the FSR at PGS I considered getting another for the looks and the alnico but I figure I could always drop an alnico in my std. DRRI if I want to.

You'll find the alnico driver provides an organic compression and warmth that most ceramics seem to lack. Give your speaker 25-30 hours' break-in time and savor the tone -- it will become even mellower as it ages.

hey knotty pine...having given up on my Supersonic 22 venture.....I took your lead and ordered a Deluxe Reverb FSR at GC last night.....hope to have it mid-week. My guess is we're both going to be happy campers !!!!! I'm told the speaker helps make it even "more" pedal-friendly than the std. model.......
