Anyone else using a Pro Jr. for more than a practice amp? I have been using my 02 Tweed PJ at Jams with a 66 Bassman cab and it really does open up the amp, improves the tone quite a bit too. It seems to have more than enough volume/power for jams and maybe even a small bar.

Just curious what everyone else thinks or is doing with theirs.

I´m just an amateur, but I love mine too! Can´t get past 5 on volume in the house, the windows rattles. I´d love to see your tweeds plus cabs on the picture. Should look nice. Since its a volume monster for home, no need for a cab for me, yet.

Joaokorb...Nice guitars & PJ...and yep do like the tone of the PJ especially with the 2x12 cab hooked up and yep it is loud...had it up to 9 once

here is a pic of the collection so far, the only thing missing from the pic is my latest guitar buy (CAR 60s Classic Stratocaster)...been a little while since I updated the pics of the whole collection. I have 2, 2x12 cabinets both loaded with original Jensen 12 inch speakers, the bassman is a 66, the silvertone is a 68. I have used the PJ with both cabs although the Fender Bassman Cab is more stoudt than the Silvertone.

Kind of surprised I didn't get more responses...the sold a whole bunch of these amps and mine has been rock solid from day one.

yea, ive been gigging the PJ. sit it atop a folding chair and im ready.

it is quite bold for its size, and i have found occasions when it was too loud at a gig. seems like banquet halls and fire halls are the typical "no PJ" zones, haha. everytime ive played in these places, i could not seem to get a nice grind because doing so would blow the place out with volume. although i have found that facing the speaker back at the wall can help lessen the blow, allowing me to turn up a bit more. doesnt always work though. silly me forgot to bring a dirt box several times, so ive played some pretty clean renditions of "hard to handle" and "come together"...

i did a recording session in a small studio with the little guy. yet again, same story as above applies here. the band couldn't hear each other all that well with the little 10" speaker blaring away. crazy, right? a good deal of my overdrive came from post processing on the software. d'oh!

that all being said...the PJ will certainly meet its match at many venues. i have become aware of the lack of "fullness" in larger places. the amp's great in small bars when you're doing some 3 piece blues or jazz or something....but moving up from that, you might need some supplements. i finally bought my first mic, an SM57 recently, so now i run it through the PA when necessary. its all good. i feel a PA can make pretty much ANY amp sound better than it already does. long story short, i look at the big 4x12 stacks today, and shake my head muttering the words "damn marketers"

Yeah, I really like the Pro JR and I often use it for gigs.

I have posted a couple of demos on youtube. Here's one -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9qB74sXa3A

I had an "accident" with mine... I put in the preamp tubes where the power tubes goes, and vice versa. Bad idea - I fried some things! Started smoking....

But, I got it fixed and the tech said the specs are now as the offical Pro Jr (before the second version came out).

The only problem for me is it's too loud for practicing. Even though it's small, it's plenty loud, and it sounds best when it's turned up a bit.
