Hi again!

Now that my lovely BDL is fighting fit again, my little boy decided to put his finger into a small hole in the grill cloth and make it go right the way across the front of the amp. Deep joy

2 questions, the first is what the easiest way to drop out the board with the speakers mounted on it to replace the cloth and second is where the hell do i find oxblood grill cloth (with the gold stripes) in the UK!!!!!!

As always, your help is much appreciated!!

Squier

I don't know where to find the grill cloth in the UK, but you have to completely disassemble the amp to remove the speaker baffle board to be able to change the cloth. You have to remove all tubes (note their positions with a marker), disconnect the reverb cables from the tank (note positions, red and black RCA plugs), remove the reverb cable stay on the side of the cabinet, unplug the speaker from the jack, then remove the chassis from the cabinet, two screws on the side and one on top for each side, six chassis screws total, being careful not to let the chassis fall, it is heavy. Then the baffle board is held in place by six screws on the front with nuts inside the cabinet. The toughest part is to get the chassis out without destroying the shielding tape on the side of the cabinet.

Ebay is probably your best bet for replacement cloth.

And any competent pediatrician can set that broken finger......

Just noticed that in your other thread it was a Blues Deville (BDvl), and this one is a Blues Deluxe (BDlx). Are there two amps, or which? The BDlx is a 1x12, whereas the BDvl is a 2x12 or 4x10. It makes a difference when troubleshooting to use the correct schematic. :?:
