dang how did i miss this post?

man i love just about any peavey from the 80s.
the bandits were/are my favorites. the backstages
arent bad either.
80's and 70's peavey amps, there has never been a more rugged amp built anywhere.
EVER.
i still own several and of all my amps, none of these will ever be for sale until the good Lord calls my name. then i wont care cause hopefully i'll have the worlds first
66 deluxe reverb full stack. dont give a ratz azz what arjay says, i have it on reserve.

i dont know much about the newer peavey amps. ive heard a few but they seem lacking.

The one we have in the shop is a tonal machine. Its got a sound so different than the fenders all around it. Great build quality too

I feel like that if I get it I would need to replace the speaker though....

I've owned several Peavey amps and still have a C-30 and C50-410. I must say the C-30 is one of the best sounding amps I've ever owned. The only drawback for some folks might be, it won't clean up like my Fenders but is great slightly dirty. Just my opinion.

Guitarvulture: Fender does make some freakin' awesome amps. If I had the money (and the use for its size), I would like one of those new 60w supersonics (wayyyyyy too much amp for me though... it would be overkill)

they make great amps but they still dont cover all the base's nor all the possible tones.

I was playing the classic series amps the last 4-5 years. Owned 4 of them, 1 classic 30, 2 classic 50s, and a mid 90's half stack.

As far as reliability goes, I NEVER had a problem with a Peavey.
I think they sound great. I liked the blue marvel speaker. Just re-tube to preference.
The classic 30 runs HOT, the 50 has a built in fan.

Out of the 4 I owned, I enjoyed playing through the Classic 30 the most.
Portable, loud enough to keep up with a band, was able to crank it, and sounded good.
