Hi,

Bought a brand new home - recent construction but inspector gave everything including electricity a thumbs up. I plug my Deluxe 112 Plus into a surge suppressor, turn it on (without having a cord or guitar plugged in) and I'm picking up some local radio station pretty loud through the amplifier.

I'll go buy a tester for the outlets to see if they aren't grounded properly. But I've never had this issue before. Again, the amp picks up the radio without a guitar being plugged in.

Has anyone fixed this problem? I'm pretty sure the amp is in great shape, but obviously something is going on.

Thanks for your help!

Mark

Try different outlets (even your friend's house) and no suppressor. And cross your fingers.

Good luck!

I still get a local radio station through my amp when I leave my Wah pedal in a certain spot. I think the same thing happened to Tom Morello when they were recording "Guerilla Radio". You can hear it at the end of the song. :D

I used to own a "Blues Deluxe 4X10" that did that. Thank goodness it was a Country station. I tried everything from different outlets to power filters etc.Turned out I lived under a mountain that had a high powered public radio antenna on it. When I took the amp out of the area the problem went away. If you haven't already done it you might want to try plugging it in at a friends house who doesn't live in your area. At least that way you'll know if it's the amp or not.
