Hello All,

I'm a new member and this is my first post.

I've just purchased a slightly used but in excellent condition DRRI (manufactured 07 Jan 2010). Actually, I traded a Mesa Boogie Mark 1 Reissue for this amp. The Boogie is a great amp but just way too powerful for my needs these days. The DRRI is the type of amp that I really need. The tone is beautiful; it seems to go well with my `88 Les Paul Standard. I'm not much of an effects guy; I just like to plug in and play. Although I will be looking through the various posts I was wondering if any of you DRRI owners have any helpful hints to help me get the most out of my amp.

Thanks for your time.

You might give some thought to the "Fritz Mod" -- popular and extremely useful.

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome!
Mine is October of 2010...

I haven't done anything to mine yet. Still enjoying it but there are a number of DRRI posts if you do a search and you'll find lots of useful information, including mods.

Hi welcome to the forum. my drri is five years old and has been going strong. I just change the tubes every two years or so keeps her in top nick. Try nos tubes they make the amp come alive tone wise. as for getting the best out of your amp try turning her up to six or seven and then control the volume from your guitar volume control. they sound best when you turn them up.Cheers..from..AUS...

Thanks everyone for your kind remarks and suggestions. I've been playing the amp for a few days now and it sounds great. I've had it up to 6 on the volume and it sounds heavenly...not a single cabinet rattle too.

Overall, I'm extemely satisfied with my purchase.

congrats~
i do the same with keeping the amp's vol up pretty high and use the guitar's vol to taste.
i also keep the bass knob fairly low, 3ish, and that helps keep a balanced tone especially with my guitar having humuckers.

If you're dumping NOS tubes after only two years, you're wasting a lot of money.

I'm betting money that I have tubes older than you which see regular pro service on stage every weekend.

NOS tubes can be expected to perform for a decade or more before they tire out.
