Hello, i searched for this topic on this forum and did not find one even tho i am sure it has been asked about. I own a vibro champ amplifier and i use it quite a bit more then my drrl. i noticed that theres a standby switch on my drrl and, none on the v-champ. My question (s) are, What is harder on the tubes? turning it on and off at random? or just leaving it on at all times even if not being played thru for days. thanx for any response.

Dave.

Vacuum tubes may be considered in the same manner as an incandescent light bulb -- the roughest time for them both is during warm-up and cool-down. That said, I wouldn't recommend leaving an amp switched on for days on end. For quiet periods when using your VCXD, merely turn the volume to "0" and unplug your instrument and cable.
