Hi, first post here, I just got a Super-Sonc 112 (original version) and would like to know if the loop is serial or parallel. Doesn't state in the manual, nor can I find the answer online.

Thanks

Hi Green Manalishi,

Serial? That's a computer port term, not an amp term. Maybe you mean series? The effects loop in the Super Sonic would be series, it is switched into or out of the signal path. Check the schematic for the details of the switching.

Series and parallel in amp terminology have completely different meanings than the computer ports serial and parallel. In the computer, the terms refer to how data is moved, whereas in an amp it is the relationship of how components are connected to each other.

Thanks for the reply.

Serial (adjective) : of, relating to, consisting of, or arranged in a series, rank, or row <serial order>

Wow, greenman. By your signature, looks you have some very good taste in guitars and amps. That LP Traditional Pro is super sweet, and all those Marshalls, you got some nice stuff.

Compared to the Super Sonic 22, which is series, I wonder if this is where the "box of cobras" as Supro said, (he cracks me up!) hiss is coming from? The schematic is showing the signal path sitting on the TL072 op amp all the time.
