I have bought a Used FM65R that I love, but it has a couple of shaky pots that I would like to replace. Can anyone tell me how to open this thing up to replace them?
If there is a manual that shows an exploded view, that would help.
Is there anyone that has opened this model up that can help, and please no friendly advice to take it to a repair ctr. Thanks in advance

Hi TCop2,

Use a note pad to write down where things connect to make sure that they are connected correctly when reassembling, and obviously the amp should be unplugged from electricity while disassembling. Looking at the back of the amp, remove the screw and plastic clip holding the reverb cables inside on the right, then unplug the reverb cables RCA plugs from the tank, noting the colors of the cables and which color plugs into which side of the reverb tank. Unplug the speaker wires from the speakers noting that the white connects to the terminal marked +.

There are 8 black screws holding the chassis (amp) in the cabinet, 4 on top, 2 on each side. You may want to remove the top 4 screws first, then turn the amp upside down and remove the 4 side screws, then you can lift the chassis out the back of the cab to have access to the components.

FWIW, here is a link to download the manual.

I'm going to change the main Volume and Mid control pots on the amp. I've changed Guitar pots, but not AMP pots. Is it much different from guitar ones, or any tips I should know on this model amp when changing. Thanks

I have not seen the inside of the 65R, but the pots are likely the type that are soldered directly to the circuit board. If so, you will have to pull the main circuit board to be able to unsolder the pots. Of course you will have to remove the knobs from the pots to remove the main board, being careful not to put stress on the pots when removing the knobs. You'll know what you have when you pull the chassis. Quite a bit more involved than changing pots on a guitar.
