Hi Goldfox,

The SCXD amp, with the built in effects, will not sound like the clean of an all tube amp, and no where near the sound of a Twin. The SCXD will sound more like the clean of a solid state amp, with a little tube flavor. I thought the same thing about the clean channel of the SCXD when I tried a new one a few years ago.

when i first bought mine, one of the tubes was blown, upon delivery.

on ch 1 it should sound clean up until 7-10.
i replaced all tubes and speaker, made a huge difference...

i never rebiased the thing, havent got a clue on how with this amp.
unless i get the kit for it.

Biasing the SuperChamp XD is easy. I just googled the issue and found lot's of information on the test points and voltages. I just don't remember where I found it all maybe Billim's site.

Here is what a quick search found:

BTW -- I swapped out the tubes, new speaker and a bias and the little amp rocks.

That is interesting. I have had mine for almost 2 years and never had that with the clean on 1. I have noticed that after I let the speaker break in my SCXD sounds even sweeter than when I first got it. I am not sure if new tubes would be the answer but...who knows.
ABS :D
