Hi! I need some help here, especially anyone with any of the Supersonics. I have a Supersonic 60 watt head and 4x12 cab. It has about six months playing time on it and everything was fine. I just started to notice a serious degradation of tone on my burn channel in the Bassman setting as well as the burn vintage. It sounds really trebly and not fat like it was. What doesn't seem right is that when I turn down my bass, treble and mid all the way in the burn channel there is no sound, it just goes away. This doesn't happen on the clean channel. If I turn treble and bass down on the clean channel I still maintain my volume but as expected the tone changes. Is something wrong with the amp or is this the design of the three tone knobs. Thanks, this has me kinda freaked out.

Hi stratrocs,

If the 60 is wired the same as the other SS amps, then there will be no sound in the burn channel with all three tone pots turned all the way down, that's normal, it just the way the pots are wired. This wiring allows the complete removal of all of the frequencies of a particular tone pot. This tone pot wiring configuration is the same as a Twin Reverb and other amps tone circuit wiring. I have even modded some of my amps the same way for better control of tone. The clean channel tone pots on your amp are wired differently and won't respond the same as the burn channel tone pots.

As for the sound degradation, maybe a burn channel preamp tube is going bad. Do you have the schematic to see which tubes are used for the burn channel?

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.

V3 is used for the Burn Channel.
V2 is for the clean (vibro + Bassman)
V1 is input stage
