I have a fender rockpro1000 amp and it cuts out when ever im using it. At first it would cut out and come back on its own. Now it cuts out and wont come back unless you bang on the top of it. Sometimes it wont even come back at all. When it cuts out I can still hear it but it sounds like its a million miles away. It started making a loud sound when you shut it off before it started to cut out. I hope you guys know why it is cutting out, because I love this amp. It plays so clean and very dirty when I want it to. Please help.

The Rock Pro uses a single 12AX7 tube in the pre-amp stage......I'd start there by swapping in a known good tube.

It's really not a good idea to "bang" on an amp.

hey there, I had the same issue with my ROC PRO 1000, then it popped, smoked, and stopped working. It was a problem in combination with the heat sink and some capacitors. the issue you're describing is definitely a cap problem, and you should get it to an amp tech asap. Mine cost me about $100 to repair, and sounds/ plays great. the 12AX7 should be able o last forever in these amps as mine has made it since production and still not quitting. Don't try to fix yourself as these hybrids are a bit troublesome to work on.
