Hi guys n gals,

Newbie but posting as I want to ask you pro's a question. I've a Frontman 212R - does the business but occasional gigs are loud and cranking up the volume doesn't always help.

So I'm thinking about getting a cab - a Fender 212 Vintage Modified cab e.g.

http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Ba ... 2-x-12/AC9

- question is - can I hook up this cab with my Frontman and do you see any issues doing so. I've gone for this particular cab as it'll match the amp - I like thing to look good!!!

Thank you all,

Deeds

Hi deeds,

Does the Frontman 212R have one or two speaker jacks, or is the speaker directly connected to the amp, and is your amp rated for a 4 ohm speaker load? (two 8 ohm speakers in parallel is 4 ohms) :?: If only one speaker jack, then you could use either the internal 4 ohm speakers or the 8 ohm external cabinet with no problems. If you have two speaker jacks, and you use the internal speakers and external speaker cab at the same time, the total speaker load would be 2.6 ohms, and may be to low to use with your solid state amp. I wouldn't go below the 4 ohms unless the manual says that it is OK, or the amp is labeled as such. Using the lower ohms is not a problem with a tube amp, but can be with a solid state amp.

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.
