I currently have a fender blues jr. 15 watt with 1 12" speaker. i think i need to upgrade, or possibly modify my amp. i was wondering if anyone could give me a suggestion.

i really like the way my amp sounds, but to play at the loudness of my band i need to turn both gain and master up to about 9. At this level the buzz is to loud(people have commented on it after shows). i have tried to use a noise reduction petal, but it doesn't really cater to our music, because i play by myself during the music quite a bit and the buzz comes through just as loud during those parts as if i didn't have the pedal in the first place.

Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks

Hi ronsundquist,

Lots of possibilities as to what the problem could be, such as bad power supply caps. Check the Billm site for some possible solutions (link below). Check the rest of his site for lots of great info on the BJr. Billm is very knowledgeable about all things BJr. 8)

P.S.
You might also try some new preamp tubes, a bad preamp tube or two could also cause hum/buzz.
