Fender 65' Princteon Reverb RI - Concerns

Budget $800

I was offered a PRRI new for $749.99 from a Ma and Pa store but it has been on the floor. Though this is a place where they do watch you but no way of telling if the amp has been left on.

I really am interested in this amp. However, I am concerned if it will be to loud for my apartment. I am looging for that thick clean sound it produces.

Also, I am concerned about the build quality. Many reports of the amp sound bad passed 4. I love the reverb and trem circuit is awesome.

I have amps to gig with and I am looking for that classic Fender Blackface sound at apartment levels.

Would the new Blues Jr III, Vibro Champ XD or is the Super Champ XD to loud for the apartment?

Thanks for any help!!

I had the SCXD and now have the PRRI.

They are both capable of nice clean sounds at bedroomlevels.
I really like the SCXD, but since somebody offered to buy it at a good price, I got the PRRI instead.
The clean sound, reverb and tremolo are in a different league. (As is the price.)
Also it sounds fuller (Probably also due to the bigger cabinet.) Plus, you will be able to use it for small gigs. Thats were the SCXD just doesn't have enough "umph."
Get the Princeton, you wont be sorry. (Although the SCXD is a really nice amp for the money...)

$800 or $899 is a little steep for a PRRI. People get used ones for $550-$650 on the ebay and the C list. If you hunt of a used silverface PR you could get one in very good condition for about $750-$800. In the long/short run the Silverface will go up in value, the others, not so sure.
