I do not know what speaker this is, the wattage on it.

026488
12774 8ohm
67 - 8818 G1

That is what is written on the label.

I found them inside a Marshal 1961A stack. Marked as 8ohm 150W.
As the speaker was connected to give 4ohm I suspect that they are replaced and so is worried if the 150W statement still is correct.

All that can really be gleaned from the label is that the speaker was manufactured by Eminence in the 18th week of 1988 and that the coil is 8 ohms. Beyond that is anybody's guess.

Thanks.

I have sent a mail to Eminence and see if they can help. Atleast I am under impression that they can tell from the number '12774'.

That's likely a production code or an OEM customer ID number. It might prove useful.

Best of luck.

Meanwhile I have found this post through google.
http://acapella.harmony-central.com/sho ... -this-work

"The item up for auction is a genuine Fender speaker cabinet made in the USA.It is fitted with two recessed side handles and has four sturdy castors which makes it easy to move around. The cabinet has two input jacks and still has the orignal speakers fitted 4 x 12 inch. The markings on the speakers are as follows:

026488, 12774 8 ohm, 67-8924 G1

I purchased the item brand new and it is in very good codition apart from 2 small marks in the vinly covering and is in perfect working order.

Model number 412 Dual Showman

Part number 216102

Serial number 40370"

EDIT: http://support.fender.com/manuals/guita ... manual.pdf - 100W rating for the cabinet.

I do suspect the speaker elements have been replaced. But I do not know anythin about building a cabinet. Other searches that I have made implies that it could be 4 x 25W = 100W?

So that could mean that the elements I have is 25W?

I'd guess that those speakers as originally installed in a late '80s Showman 4 x 12 are rated for a minimum of 50 watts each.

Can you post some pics of those speakers? I'd like to take a look at the magnet structure and the suspension.

Sorry I forgot about that.

I have the cabinet away, have to bump this thread when I have got the chance to take a picture.

EDIT & UPDATE:
The answer I got on the question I sent through mail was 100W.
(I am pleasantly surprised, and are going to change the configuration for my amplifier accordingly. :) )
