I get to the point were I look around and get tired of tripping over an extra cab, speaker, box of tubes ect.
I sell off the excess only to find my next project needs what i just got rid of and now I have to go find whatever it might be.
I still have a large box of used tubes from an auction, its hiding somewhere in my garage, ya never know I've found some real gems in those auction box lots.
The unfortunate thing is that all of these TV shows have turned everyone into a "picker"
a term I never used untill the show.
Now auctions that had twenty bidders now have one hundred or more.
And my local pawn shops look like walmart on a Sunday afternoon (no place to park).

Hi tung soul 6v6 ri tubes for me in my drri. they sound pretty creamy to me. and rca 12ax7 in pre amp stage. scored some aus made awv radiotron 6v6gt six nos matching numbers.cant wait to try them. nos tubes do sound more tone full to me the right ones have that 3D sound down pat. the ri tubes out there are getting close but i dount think they will ever be as good nos tubes. they just built them better back then..Cheers..from..aus...

Yeah I went with tung sol 6v6gt's and 12ax7's for the pre-amps. I went with NOS 12AT7 for the reverb driver and phase inverter and NOS 5R4GY-A-B rectifier tube.

I can't wait to try them out.

I had a pair of Motorolla 6V6gt's that sounded absolutely amazing, I let them go with an amp, been sorry since that day.

Years ago I had a '68 Princeton Reverb with Motorola 6V6's and a Telefunken GZ34 -- best tube combination I ever heard in that particular amp. I should've "harvested" them before trading it off......oh well.

Arjay
