Have you tried the rule of 6?

Treble: 6

Mids: 3
Bass: 2
(2 x 3 = 6)

Volume: 6

Ummm, do you know what a Cyber Twin is? Its a modling amp. Getting the OPs desired sound may be a little more complex than turning a couple of tone knobs.

Perfectly aware of that.

I'm also perfectly aware of the fact that it might be worthwhile to ignore all the fancy presets, and give it a go with the basic knobs.

If you're looking for a traditional nashville sound, a Fender Amp is should be enough to get you 90%+ of the way there straight out of the box.

Yeah. Good luck with that advice. :roll:

Also very sorry, but I did figure that you were the best one to answer this question.

Sorry that you see the need to be rude. Are you saying good luck with regards to actually trying to use the knobs on the amplifier to achieve the desired tone?

At any rate, my advice was worth looking at as a starting point -- rather than relying on a set of presets, it's never a bad idea to actually try turning the knobs yourself.

Looking at the actual file suggested, you'll see this:

13 7.0 =Volume Value ;
14 7.6 =Treble Value ;
15 3.9 =Middle Value ;
16 6.4 =Bass Value ;

With the exception of the Bass, the rule of 6 will get you in the right ballpark, and you can tweak from there to arrive at exactly what you're looking for.

Thanks Guys...I was part way to the sound im looking for and went with the clean and bright with the tweed and blackface reverb. I will try the rule of 6 and see if it gets me where I want to be. Sure do appreciate the help you have all provided..Best wished to the one your caring for!

Ray

pick and bend till your fingers bleed, then pick and bend somemore and you just might get to where you can come out of the garage!!

You must not have read that TDPRI thread very closely. Not everyone likes the "Magic 6" or believes it has any real basis in fact. Search the Gear Page sometime and see what is said about it there. The "Magic 6" was based on the tone stack of the Blackface Fenders. I have two Fender amps, one solid state, one tube. The "Magic 6" sounds totally different on each of them and certainly not anything "Nashville".

Rule of 6? What in the world is that? Wouldn't it come out to 6 6 6?

I'm guessing that no self-respecting Bible-thumper from Nashville would want the "mark of the beast" sullying the front panel controls of his Fender amp.

:lol:

There actually is some merit to the "Rule of 6" theory but as mentioned previously, it really applies to the blackface (and by extension the silverface) Fenders. And it's only an initial datum point -- from there, further refinement of the EQ is frequently necessary.

HTH
