Hi cameron26,

Yes, it takes pedals very well. I feel the same about the drive channel, not so good. But, using pedals on the clean channel is terrific. I sometimes use a POD for amp modeling directly into the "Power Amp In" bypassing the amps preamp section, for some wonderful tones. Some effects like delays, may sound better in the loop, while effects like distortion pedals sound better into the input, experiment, as there is no "right way" to use the pedals. Great amp, enjoy!

That would be too cool! I have the XT, and have only read about the new HD versions, but I really enjoy mine. It has lots of great amp models, and just about every effect that a person might want, all in one device, very versatile. I wanted something to use with an amp or with only headphones, and be able to hook it up to my computer to play along with songs or backing tracks. I don't know which HD versions have a headphone out, but that is important for me, to use it without an amp when quiet is needed. I think that the sound is fantastic through headphones, and is as good an effects pedal/device that I have ever used, the software makes it infinitely adjustable. The Marshall and Mesa amp models sound very close to the real deal with the Dvl 4x10, and even closer with headphones, but you can dial in lots of great tones with POD and Dvl 2x12 also, all of the classic amp models are there. Let us know what you get, and how it sounds. :)
