I have a BJ NOS and don't see anything for fuses, can anyone show a diagram as far as where they are located for future reference. This would be great info for any BJ owner to have. Thanks, Newt

One option is the warranty. Fender has a great 5 year warranty. Beter than any LCD TV or computer or washer and dryer.

Look on the 3rd or 4th page of the schematic, the fuses are located at the bottom left of the main circuit board. The on line schematics do not show the 5 amp fuse, if your amp has the 5 amp fuse, it will be located a couple of inches to the right of the 2 amp fuse. The schematic that came with my BJr shows the 5 amp fuse, in both the schematic and the circuit board layout. :?

Maybe this picture would be more helpful.

Ok update...took the the BJ back to GC...waste of time..they told me to ship it to Fender and wait my turn...so i went by radio shack grabbed a 2 amp ...sure enough it was blown...ok ..so i replaced the tubes and the fuse ..bam!... blew the fuse again...well my amp tech Dan Moser lives right down the road so i called and ran it over...he took the power tubes out and replaced the fuse and fired it up like that ..bingo!..the number 3 pin was arcing on the 7 pin on the tube socket...so basically it was grid to filament....it was a defect! ..so he took a screwdriver and notched the PC board between the two pins...I voided the warranty... but if quality control was in order this would have never happened...i wonder how many other people this has happened to?...Fender im very dissapointed...this should never happen...Dan said he is always running into this with their PC board amps...i have a handwired Vibrolux that he built me over 7 yrs ago...it was built right....I guess this is going to happen with mass produced gear...I will post some pics of the socket so evertone can see...oh well its working ..

Glad to hear your man was able to get the amp back into service, FF63.

Rawk on!

:? Pin 3 is Cathode, pin 7 is Plate, the two aren't next to each other on the socket, neither are the grid and filament pins next to each other. Maybe you misunderstood? A "grid to filament" would be a tube failure, not a socket failure. It sounds to me like a bad output tube caused the problem with the socket, not the other way around. When you replaced the fuse and reinstalled the bad tube, you may have caused the arc then. If the socket was bad, and needed "notched" then the fuse would have still blown with the tube removed. Unless I misunderstood, one of the JJ tubes was bad?

is it possible you bent the pin when you installed the new tubes?

seems that if it had been like that for a month the issue would have happened
before now i would think.

I am glad that you have it going now, but I'm still uncertain as to which tubes you are using now. So, are you using the JJs that you had in when it failed? You said that when the tech removed the tubes, the fuse did NOT blow, then your other post you said "it did it with the tubes removed".....?
