I just exchanged a Twin Reverb Reissue that was having self feedback and ticking issues for another Twin Reverb Reissue. I didn't realize when I was at the store, but the reverb tank is not screwed down, and from the looks of it never has been. I payed roughly $950 (US) for this, and I'm a bit scared that the quality in build isn't there. What do you think I should do? The store only had two Twins left and they have no plans to carry anymore because they are dropping out from being a Fender dealer. The store has assured me that the item is new and fully under warranty.

EDIT: I forgot to add that I own another Fender Twin Reverb Reissue and I love it to death, I'm just scared about the one that I just got.

I'd return it but that's just me. For the MSRP demanded for these amps, they should all be the best-assembled products in the world.

I agree with Arjay. For the MSRP, these should be built like a tank!

EDIT: A successful tank.

Bummer,

I agree x10 with Arjay! Those are expensive amps & should have NO flaws coming off the shelf.

I have to say, having owned both Fender & Peavey amps (Classic series). While many prefer the sound of the Fender cleans, Peavey sounds incredible (no worse or better IMO, just different) & is by FAR the reigning champ in RELIABILITY!

Icepot, I'm hearing more & more that the re-issues (even though they sound great when working) don't hold a candle to the build quality of the originals. It's a shame to drop that kind of money on something new only to find that it needs repaired straight from the factory. Fender has had a solid rep for years, they should strive to keep it that way & offer affordable amps that live up to the claims.

Not trying to push Peavey on you, just throwing it out there that you might consider test driving something from the Classic series. IMO, anything from the Classic series in Peavey's line is a phenomenal amp for a great price!
