yeah i love mine...
yeah i took my cage off at the store and the preamp retainers - the instore rattle was coming from the preamp retainers on mine. But once i got it home, one of the 6V6's started rattling BAD.
i always order new tubes for mine as well, but might as well use the ones that came with it, seeing that i need to save up 100 for new tubes
when i went back to the store with it - they gave me a new matched pair of 6V6's, but instead of the groove tube 6v6-S (7's), all they had in stock was the groove tube 6v6-R (6's)... so i took them.
I guess once they burn in, i will bias them. every time i have installed power tubes on my other amps, i noticed they would change reading or drift when i went to check them again after a few months- so might as well just plug & play for a good week or so , then bias - seeing that they are close enough to the original tubes...
?
well here is my new SS 22:

hey does your amp sound warm or trebley? I us a SG And I turn it up almost all the way, only on the burn channel

I recorded my SS22 and PRRI at idle.
All volume-knobs on 0, no reverb....

Here you can watch it:

What do you think?

Dam! the clean channel break up with my tele is insane! sounds so good, have a little 59 in the bridge and stock pup in my classic vibe tele.

My SS had the hiss as well. As much as I liked it, the clean side didn't stay clean enough past 3-4 and the OD side was little tough to dial down (but I didn't try lower gain tubes in the OD side). I was bummed that I had to sell it because it was the perfect size and sounded great at home.

on the the tele middle pick up position stays pretty much all the way up, then flip to bridge then I get a good break up on the clean, depends on the guitars used

I just received a new one that does the same thing, and the reverb is extremely noisey also. Like the amp, but the hiss is a deal breaker for me. :(

mine died after a couple days! smelled a electronic smell and the foot switch wasn't lit and the gain channel was out............. Bought a 6505+ and 400 cash back in my wallet.

its a peavey amp, eddie Vanhalen's old amp was a 5150 when he was with peavey, when he left they now call it a 6505 and a 6505+. The plus has a better clean channel
