Hi folks,

I purchased a brandnew Super Sonic 22 and I'm absolutely loving this sound. But it is built in a very low quality: The reverb produces feedback, the noise (some kind of hiss) with all controls turned to zero is annoying and it pops during channelswitching.

I took it back to the dealer and now I'm looking for an alternative amplifier.

I own a Princeton Reverb Reissue which I'm bsolutely addicted to. But I need an FX-loop for delay pedal and a second channel with some kind of overdrive.

I recently noticed the Princeton Recording Amp but the local stores doesn't offer it anymore. I think the 15W will fit to my guitar style as the Princeton Reverb Reissue does perfectly.

On ebay there are sometimes offers for the PRA but without further information I'm afraid of buying one blindly.

What about the noise of this amp? Is it a low-noisy amp?
And what about the built in effects (compressor, overdrive)? Are they sounding like standard pedals?

I heard about the attenuator problem but I think I would'nt use the attenuator so often. I'm interested into this amplifier because of its effects loop, reverb and compressor+overdrive which gives me all I need in an amp.

Some opinions?

Thanks!

Martin

Hi Martin, You kind of lost me. You're loving the sound, but the SS22 has feedback and hiss?

You really don't "need" an effects loop or a drive channel. The PRA's had their share of problems too. I'd just do it all with pedals. One of my amps has an effects loop and I don't really bother with it.

:?: :?: :?:

If it were me, that amp would've gone back to the store quicker than Michelle Obama asking for a second rack of barbecue ribs and hush puppies at the SEIU annual picnic!

WTFO?!?!?
