After much deliberation, I went to GC today, and pulled the trigger on a brand new Blues Junior NOS. I was crazy about the lacquered tweed, and the upgraded speaker is something I really liked. I've been going back and forth with this decision for a few weeks, and I knew that once I got the amp home, I'd love it. I was right! It is a great amp. VERY SRV sounding. Neck position with the amp cranked just wails Texas Flood. It is a real blues machine. It really does it all...Albert King, BB, SRV, etc. When the amp is cranked, rolling off the volume really cleans it up. I feel confident that I made the right decision. I'd like to have a pair of these speakers in my HR Deville...then I'd be all set. I got a great deal, I think. GC had an ad on their site advertising "The List" and it had the amp on sale for $519.99. Then, I handed him the 15% off coupon, which knocked it down a bit more. Out the door with tax was $482. I can't complain. I just wish sales tax wasn't 10%!

The first thing I need is a cover, footswitch for thr "Fat" channel, and a fresh set of JJ tubes. The EL84's and the 12ax7's are Sovtek's...all the same though...they all have the Groove Tubes label slapped on top.

Well...as if you guys don't already know what these amps look like, without any more ado....here it is.

thanks fellas. I'm really loving the amp. It really sounds good, and is just what I want. I love how I can roll off the volume knob and clean up the tone a bit. On my Deville, when I roll back the volume on my CP 60's, it gets really bassy. Not on the BJr, though. It is still crisp and clear.

Bill...I'm also a fan of my 5150. It does a great job at harder rock and roll. It's a 1998 that I bought used last year. I had another one that I bought new in 1998, but sold it about 6 years ago because I was broke. Fortunately, I was able to find this one at a guys house in Tennessee that still had the tags on it.

Thanks! I'm liking it. I've been playing it nonstop. I actually wiped down my three other amps the other night and put covers on them to keep the dust off! I really feel that this amp will be my go to amp. I have to get the footswitch for it though...that fat switch really gives a nice boost for solo work. One thing that bothers me is that the fat switch doesn't have an LED light on it. The fat switch really gives a subtle, yet powerful boost to the amp, but I don't want to have to worry about playing and having to wonder whether or not the footswitch is on or off. I'm going to look into getting one with a LED light. Also, I need to get a cover for it...tweed amps aren't as easy to clean as the tolex ones.

yup. they are a special edition made for certain retailers, so they aren't on Fender's website, but they are still being made. My GC got 3 of them in last week. I bought the last one.
