Hi Wyoming T/A,

You can use a 4, 8 or even 16 ohm ext cab with your TRRI. For the best balance of internal and external speakers, two 8-ohm speakers wired in parallel for a 4 ohm ext cab would work well (that's 2 ohms with internal and external speakers). Or even two 16-ohm speakers in parallel for an 8 ohm ext cab (that's 2.6 ohms with internal and external speakers). Two 8-ohm speakers in series will be 16-ohms for the cab, etc. The combinations are many, and some will sound better than others. You will get the most power out of the amp when using a 4-ohm total speaker load (ie internal speakers only), but other combinations will work fine also, no worry about any damage due to an impedance mismatch. I would use two 8-ohm speakers in the cab, and wire them parallel for a 4-ohm cab, although It seems that an 8 ohm ext cab with a single 15-inch speaker is more popular with owners of that amp. You could even have a switch wired in your 2x12 cabinet to select between two different impedances for the cab.

If you wanted some ohm options, get a Plug&Play.
With 2 8ohm speakers it can go Stereo L&R at 8ohms ea, Mono (both speakers) at 4 or 16ohm, depending on what jack(s) you plug into 8) .

lookin for some inexpensive speakers like Eminence Legend or maybe going up to Celestion GreenBacks --dont want to spend a lot on the cabinet--$200-$300

Take a look at a 2-10" that will "sit under" a Twin (26-1/2"W),
was done in Egnater style, but Fender style can be done, too.
