MY hotrod that has worked so well for years has finally given me a drama. Yesterday it started crackling in the highs, Like was ok mids and lows but then started crackling and not responding to high frequencys. And then it just started working again fine then it started again and so on, Does this mean my tubes are on there way or gone?

Hi ozrv,

It sounds like the solder joints on the tube socket boards are cracked/bad and need to be touched up. Whenever the problems come and go, with normal operation sometimes, it usually indicates solder joint problems. It could also be the tube sockets themselves, but check the solder joints first as it is a common problem.
