It's working out sweet...

I got $75 for the Frontman, 10% off the Mustang, and there's a promo going on to get a free 4 button foot switch from Fender (which can be used in tandem with the included two button switch) for oodles of foot-switchin' fun :) .

I started a new post regarding my first thoughts on the Mustang... gotta get back to playing! Cheers... http://www.fender.com/co

As you know you'll never be able to get the tone of a Twin from a Frontman 65, however as Arjay has stated there are some things you can do that will improve it a great deal over stock. A couple of years ago I was at a blues festival in which the lead guitarist for one of the bands was using s mic'd up Frontman 65R. He had added a Rajun Cajun speaker and used a Boss FDR1 pedal. It actually sounded very good. So don't give up on it yet.

Are you shure it was a Ragin Cajun? I have the Frontman 65R and a Ragin Cajun in my oldest Frontman 25R. RC is 10" and 65R has a 12" speaker inside. How would that match? I've connected externally to RC and indeed, sounds great! But how can you fit a 10" speaker when the hole on the front panek is for 12"?

Old thread, but you're right.

I had a Frontman 65r. Sorry I sold it. It was the best door stop I ever had. :|

Now, now, now... Nothing wrong with the Frontman 65r. I still use mine almost every day. It sounds good clean, but when I want to rock out a bit, I stomp on my home-made overdrive pedal (Ibanez Tube Screamer clone).

Frontmans 25 65 and 212 are great acoustic amps. With magnetic and peizo pickup they out do any acoustic amp at that price range, even the acoustasonic jr.

Agree. Have the 25 and the 65 as well. Both sound very good with piezzo acoustics. Still, a little bit different. 65 is more sparkling than 25 (I mean with stock speakers - I usually use an Eminence RC as well...)
