I would LOVE to have a Jazzmaster Ultralight head, but the fact that a matching cab is no longer available and virtually impossible to find, I find myself not wanting to pull the trigger. This little amp head is JUST what the doctor ordered for my ailing back, but if I can't find a suitable speaker cab, it wouldn't make sense to own an Ultralight head - or WOULD it?

Who is running an Ultralight through a non-Ultralight matching cab, and if so, what cab are you using? Searching for a 2 ohm speaker cab has proven futile. I've heard that running a 4 ohm cab is OK, but even then, what cab would be a good fit?

I can't believe that Fender offers such a great, if little known, amp head with no speaker cab option.

Hi Rob J,

You can use a 4 ohm or 8 ohm or even 16 ohm speaker cabinet, but with an increase in impedance of the speaker, you get a decrease in output level from the amp. Two 4 ohm speakers in parallel will give you 2 ohms. A typical Fender 2x12 cabinet would give you 4 ohms (two 8 ohm speakers). You can wire a 4x12 or 4x10 cabinet to get 2 ohms by wiring the four speakers in parallel (four 8 ohm speakers). Just some options. :)

More ohms (higher number) means more resistance. The more resistance there is, the less power will flow to the speaker.

You could run two 4ohm cabs.
I think the Weber Zmatch is only rated up to 100w so that wouldn't help.
