Wow, I've just read some vitriolic diatribe about the lack of brains associated with tube amp users followed by a declaration that solid state amp aficionados are tone deaf. So, lets put this to a vote. You find yourself on a desert island stage and you can only take one amp with you. What's it gonna be? Solid State or Vacuum Tube?

I'm sorry, buddy. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this poll will teach you nothing except that guitarists are bullheaded. The solid state camp believes the tube camp is still trippin' out on some wicked 60's chemicals and the tube camp looks at the solid state camp like a bug that needs to be squashed. It'll be an interesting read I'm sure but you'll glean nothing of value from it in the long run. Might as well argue creation vs. evolution. Although numbers-wise I predict more will vote tube just on basic principles.

Maybe add these two options in the poll.

o Enough with the "Stranded somewhere with only..." polls
o This would be a better topic for the lounge

:P

Polls are pointless and a total waste of bandwidth.

Can I have a hybrid amp?

If I was on a stage in the desert a solid state amp might be able to handle the heat better. Whatever it'd be though, it might as well be the biggest, baddest, loudest thing available coz at least in the desert I could crank it! :D

nothing beats a big bad valve amp... itll be fun for a hour before the thing over heats and melts...

ive had both many solid state amps and valve amps, i havnt found 1 solid state amp that can match the tone and depth of my fender blues deluxe... or almost any other valve amp...
