Hello to you all!

I'm a bit confused with all the channels and inputs that the drri offers me...
So i have two channels (normal and vibrato) and they have two inputs each?
Is this the correct way to say it? :D

Anyways is it possible to connect 2 guitars to the amp at the same time and if so should i
use the two inputs in the same channel or can i mix the normal and vibrato?
What about four guitars at the same time? What kind of risks are there when playing with two or more guitars if any?

thanks a lot in advance :)

Each channel has 2 inputs:

1: normal with a 1MOhm pull down to Gnd, the guitare is connected directly on the grill of the valve for amplification.
2: Low with 2 serial 68KOhm resistors connected to GND, the signal of the guitar is taken in the middle of the 2 68K resistor given 6dB attenuation.

If you connect 2 guitars on one channel, basically there is no more attenuation on input (2), the signal of the 2 guitars is mixed to the valve grill thanks to the 2 68K, the 1 MOhm is still present to pull down the DC to GND.

Then 2 guitars can be connected on one channel, the balance of the signal can only done by guitars volume potentiometers.
As the Normal channel and the vibrato channel are mixed to the power amp, you should connect 2 other instruments on the vibrato;

According to my understanding of the schematic (65 Deluxe reverb) 4 instruments can be connected even if I think that not the righ way to get the best sound.

Great explanation Tis-san. :!:

Hi tottoro,

Doesn't sound like you are confused at all, you described it perfectly. You won't do any damage by hooking up two or even four guitars to one or both channels in your amp, but like Tis-san said, it won't sound very good with four guitars going at once on the same amp. It may sound pretty decent with two guitars, one guitar into each channel.

For something different, try plugging your guitar into one input of the normal channel, then connect the other input of the normal channel to one input of the vibrato channel with patch cable or an instrument cable (guitar cable). You will be using both channels with one guitar and can get some neat sounds mixing the two channels.

When using both channels at the same time, you can adjust the controls to a point where both channels will just about cancel each other out and the output sound will be very low, but don't worry that's normal and won't harm anything. :idea:
