Hi,

A few weeks ago I bought a New one of these in the UK from Thomann a German Internet supplier.

Some of the print has just come of the chrome panel where the controls are. I have reported this "defect" to the supplier who has replied:

Quote:

Unfortunatelly that is quite normal. It is only chrome plated and therefore the printing is not holding on to good.

Is this normal? What do people think? Should I accept this or will it affect the resale value of the product? If I were to resell it on eBay for example, I would need to point the problem out.

Is this kind of problem "normal" for fender? Or is it an unusual quality defect. What should I do?

Regards,

This is one of the many reasons I think the amp is way overpriced. And yes, you should always describe defects on EBay to same some grief later and yes, it will probably hurt the value. If it's new and under warranty, I'd contact Fender. I would consider this unacceptable for an amp in this price range. Could be a paint or surface prep problem.

If your new champ has a stainless steel chassis it is likely the pain from the numbering will eventually come off. But if it comes off by just touching it, there is a problem.

Hi,
I have fed Howard's comments about this not being normal back to the supplier and they have agreed to take it back.
Thanks for your comments,
Regards,
