I just purchased a newer mexican built blues deluxe amp. I can not find anywhere on the fender site what the cabinet is constructed of. Is it pine?

Nope.

Either plywood or some type of pressed wood.

Rabbet-joined MDF (medium density fiberboard) case, with a 1/2 plywood baffle board......just like the original tweeds of the '50s.

would a cabinet made of solid pine improve the tone or make it more sterile? I have a super sonic with "better" wood and it sounds cold, but that could be due to a lot of other issues. I just don't know

I favor solid pine with lock-jointed corners for its resonance and durability.

Due to a lot of other issues. The circuit design/components, tubes, bias, and speaker should have a bigger impact on tone than MDF vs birch ply vs solid pine cab. But a solid pine cab does make things sweeter - it's like icing on the cake. I just bet your Super Sonic needs to be biased hotter.

Lock-jointed pine planks were used exclusively for all vintage Fender amps up through the 1970 model year regardless of whether they be tweed, brown, blonde, black, or silver.

A light weight amp such as a 5e3 all of about 24lbs gets to vibrating a lot with a solid pine cabinet. As a result, I had to change the steel glides for rubber feet to avoid damage to the tile floor.

You need some ballast.

Try adding an EV-SRO.
