Probably a good thing. The problem is, you were so dissatisfied with your HRD that whenever anyone has a question about one, you tell everyone what a POS your's was (and by extension, that they are all POS). Then when someone says that they have had no problem with their amp and that they are very happy with it, you claim they don't know what they are talking about. It all gets very tiresome.

No, the problem is that -- unlike bedroom commandos, rec-room jammers, and garage troopers -- supro, I, and many others here on this forum play music professionally. Just to refresh, that means somebody is paying $$$ for a stage act where lameass excuses regarding amp problems are not tolerated by the customer. Gear for this purpose has to work the first time, every time, all the time. Thus, we're loath to recommend any amp that can't cut it night after night on a sustained basis. Hobbyists may beat their breasts all they want about how we're goring someone's sacred ox but that's the bottom line.

Don't know about you Bill, but I've been using tube amps since 1964. I think I know how to change tubes, bias my own gear etc. My tech was usually for routine maintenance on my gear when I was out gigging all week. Yes, I did use to have a decent stockpile of tube amps. And the whole HRD series in my opinion are an ill designed, land filling POS. How's that?? You know what get tiring? People asking for help on how to mod, or repair a HRD series amp. I still help them though. I roll like that.

Get over it.You like your amp, I think they're a big POS. Nuff Said

And that justifies comments like this:

"You may be the one with the screw loose."

Yes, there are both hobbyists and pros on this forum. I freely admit that I am a hobbyist. But when anyone disagrees with one of the pros and are told that they don't know what they are talking about, well ..... I thought we were all adults here who could share information and opinions without worry of ridicule.

you know, pretty much all of the bickering back and forth is tiresome, and reflects badly for all sides.

www.eurotubes.com has a very good video on how to bias that amp.

With my HRD 410, every time I mess with the bias, the sound just gets better and better.

Watch the vid, and decide what might work best for you.

If you want total crunch, you probably won't get it with that amp unless you add a distortion pedal or a boost pedal at the bare minimum.

Fender's don't sound like Marshalls.

You DO have a very cool amp, though.
