Dutchy,

How do you like the Vibrolux? I am continually thinking about buying a new amp. The Deluxe Reverb, Twin Reverb, Vibrolux Reverb and Supersonic are amps that seem to fit the bill. I play mostly blues and I currently have a modified Blues Jr. but looking for some nice Fender cleans.

The current production Custom Vibrolux Reverb is NOT the amp I would suggest if you're looking for cleans. It breaks up very early. If you want serious clean, then the Twin Reverb is the holy grail of clean.

Vibrolux is not an amp I would recommend anyone buy without trying first.

Understood - thanks for the heads up....so, what is the main difference between the Twin Reverb and the Deluxe Reverb?

About 68 watts. :D

Twin is very high powered at 100 watts - 4 6L6 power tubes, twin 12" speakers...
Deluxe Reverb is 22 watt - 2 6V6 power tubes, single 12" speaker.

Thanks for the reply PT.

I have never played a Twin but I would bet a dollar to a doughnut that I do not need 100 watts in my music room. I will be steering clear to be sure. There are so many choices......I have played a Deluxe Reverb and I like the cleans, also sounds like the Supersonic 22 has the same platform as the Deluxe and is well liked??? Oh ya, then there is the Princeton Reverb.......whew!!!!

Thanks, I'm gonna hold off on molesting the vibrolux. It does sound great as is. I had a deluxe reverb that broke up to early for me, the twin has more head room and plays clean at higher volume. the only down fall is that its heavy. The vibrolux (40-45 watts) is great in small pubs. I play thru my vibro king (60 watts) at bigger venues. I'm trying to control my G.A.S attacks. I have good gear at the moment, and should be happy. It took years and lots of guitar and amp trade-ins to get what I have now. Thanks

I gig with my S.F pro reverb often, and love it. I love its clean tone and responds well with my tube screamer, wha pedal, and delay. Cuts through the mix well, band tends to play loud often. :)

Sorry I took so long to answer, that work thing. I love the Vibrolux, and have grown to love the stock speakers. I haven't cranked the amp pass 4 on the volume, playing small clubs and pubs. It has a nice clean tone, amp is a bit hissy, but don't notice the hiss while playing. Best part is that its a lot lighter to lug around, than my vintage twin or pro-reverb. Its tone is close to my Vibro-King, another great amp. :)
