What percentage of hygrometry would you recommand for amps ?
a 40%/50% being adequate for guitars, ain't that too much for amps, specially all valve amps ?

Hey Alain, I keep my "room" at that level. Keeps my Guitars in tune, and keeps me from shocking (static) my amps.. I dont believe that amount of humidity will harm anything...

Usually, right around 50% is considered ideal for just about everything. :)

I have been keeping the humidity very low this year. I have been keeping my place 40-45% RH All the guitars have been playing good and sounding good amp the amps too. I have been checking specs almost daily and i have not seen anything bad in the guitars or amps.

you know, this is an interesting post here.
what i find is an issue with the fluctuation in temp. and humidity of
when i leave my house and bring my amps outside to load and when i first take out my guitars from their cases at a rehersal/gig
you see, my wife loves cold, so she keeps the ac set to 68 ish.
The humidity inside my house is fine, say around 43-48% with the ac running alot & drying out the air inside. So far everything is fine.
BUT,
I live in FLORIDA and the humidity OUTSIDE (summer) is usually always 100% and instead of being 68F, like my house, it is around 95F.....!!!!
SO, you know when you bring a cold drink outside on a summer day? It immediately begins sweating! All the metal in & around my amps sweats too! 68F amps going into 95F & 100% humidity is NOT good! Same with my guitars that are 68F and i open the cases inside a bar or at someone's house, the metal components (bridge, control pots, pickups) all begin sweating.
AGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the only thing i know to do is this, ( and nope leaving my wife is NOT an option)
keep insulation around my amp when i first bring it out to the van and leave it on untill i get inside my destination. I take a thick giant beach towel and wrap the amp, then i put on the slip cover over that. By the time i get somewhere to play, the temp of the amp has adjusted enough that it's not an issue when i plug it in.
AS far as my guitars, not sure what to do.....
alot of places will not have the ac on heavy & just leave windows open with ceiling fans on high, so the place is still hot enough for my guitars to start condensating !! AAAAGGGHHH!!!
I know the whole solution is to keep the ac on around 75-78 at my house and PRESTO ! Problem is near gone/ manageable then.....
maybe i am nitpicking with my gear, but i tell you, seeing my custom 22 or my custom shop strat wet on the bridge, then knowing that their is water on solder connections, pickups, etc., FREAKS me out
someone tell me it will be ok
tell me about how some players play slide with their beer bottle and let it foam up all over their guitars and everything is still ok with them
????????????????
I hope the info on insulating the amp was helpful to others with this issue.
Just not sure what to do with the guitars.... 8)
