Wow - interesting thread... :roll:

Important to separate amps that artists endorsed briefly vs. played or continue to play.

Many folks played and continue to play a JC-120 - it's a standout.

I'd be cautious just because you saw an ad with someone like Buddy Guy with a new Fender doesn't mean he's tossed all his old amps.

While not the same genre, similar story - Blackberry just hired Alicia Keys as their spokeswoman. Problem is, she's been tweeting from her iPhone. Oprah was hired to rave about the Microsoft Surface - and tweeted her like for the product from an iPad.

Product placement and endorsements are everywhere, so be sure to take things with a grain of salt. Heck, Led Zeppelin used those horrible Rickenbacker Transonic cabinets back in the day when they didn't have any money. Certainly wasn't because they wanted to or thought they were the best...
