Sometimes when I'm using the drive channel the amp starts loosing drive and switches to clean channel without the lights on the amp or the footswitch switching to the clean channel. I tried playing with the guitar straight in to the amp with out any pedals and it still happened. This only happens sometimes. Could the footswitch or maybe the cable from the footswitch to the amp be a factor? The guitar I use from the guitar to the amp is brand new but the other one is a bit old. If that's not the problem what do you think it could be?

I mean the cable going from the guitar to the amp input is brand new but the other one going from the footswitch to the footswitch jack is a bit old

Hi Urayo18,

Are you using an instrument cable for the footswitch? I think that the correct cable should be a speaker cable, instead of an instrument cable.

Sorry for asking, but what's the difference between a speaker cable and an instrument cable?
